Waking at 3am? It’s LIVER time!

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, each organ system of the body has a time of day that it is more active than others. 

For the liver? It’s 1-3am. 

That means that if you repeatedly wake up at 3am, it’s possible your liver is overworked or you need some additional support for detoxification. Here are some things to consider to give your liver a break:

🍷 Go light or stop the alcohol altogether.

☕ Watch your caffeine intake (you don’t have to cut it out completely, just be aware of how much caffeine you are consuming and consider cutting back). 

⏰ Eat dinner earlier in the evening, skip the evening snacks, and give your body an extended period of overnight fasting.

👟 Get regular exercise (you need to sweat!)

🍬 Decrease sweets to support blood sugar balance.

🌱 Eat a variety of colorful vegetables to support detoxification.
