Carin Nielsen, MD, ABIHM, IFMCP
INTEGRATIVE AND FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE
Dr. Nielsen has over twenty years of experience treating thousands of patients with her personalized approach to health and wellness. Dr. Nielsen received a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Montana, working in Biochemistry before receiving her medical degree in 2001 from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She completed her residency in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she obtained her Board Certification in Family Medicine. After nearly five years of practicing family medicine/primary care, Dr. Nielsen made the decision to pursue a career in Integrative and Functional Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and the Institute for Functional Medicine and has completed additional training through the American Board of Bariatric Medicine, the American Academy of Anti-Aging, and the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine under the direction of Andrew Weil, MD. Dr. Nielsen resides in Northern Michigan with her husband, James, and French Bulldog, Rocky - with occasional visits from her college-age twin sons.
Courtney Voelker, HCI-CHC
CERTIFIED HEALTH COACH
Courtney Voelker is a lifelong resident of Northern Michigan. Courtney received a B.S. in Sports and Recreation Management from Lake Superior State University and worked six years in the physical therapy/sports medicine industry before joining Dr. Nielsen’s team. Courtney is a certified Health and Life Coach through the Health Coach Institute - accredited by the International Coach Federation – the gold standard of coaching. Courtney lives in Petoskey, Michigan, with her husband and two children, with whom she enjoys a variety of outdoor adventures.
