Dr. Nielsen sees patients using a secure, HIPPA-compliant video-visit format.

Initial consultations generally last 45-60 minutes. Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to complete a comprehensive health history. We encourage you to forward copies of prior laboratory testing before your appointment.

You can expect your experience with Dr. Nielsen to be different from other providers: You will feel heard, and you will have plenty of time to tell your story and explain your concerns. Your relationship with Dr. Nielsen is considered a partnership. You will be encouraged to ask questions and voice any concerns. 

The information gathered at your initial visit is used to create personalized recommendations, which may include:

  • Advanced laboratory testing such as thyroid, hormone, or micronutrient testing, advanced cholesterol profiles, stool analysis, screening for underlying infections, food sensitivities, toxins, or impaired detoxification 

  • Dietary counseling and/or a customized diet plan

  • Vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies

  • Recommendations for evidence-based holistic therapies 

  • Stress reduction techniques or meditation 

  • Bio-identical hormone therapy

  • Prescription medication or adjustment of current medication

Dr. Nielsen sees both new and returning clients using a secure video-visit format, allowing a face-to-face visit via your computer or tablet screen from the comfort of your home.

How long is a typical office visit with Dr. Nielsen?

 

Initial visits are generally 45-60 minutes. Follow-up visits range from 15-60+ minutes, depending on your need.

 

Can Dr. Nielsen be my Primary Care Physician?

 

No. Dr. Nielsen serves as a physician consultant. Primary Care, Urgent Care, and after-hours services are not available.

 

Will Dr. Nielsen speak with my primary care physician?

 

Yes! We are happy to communicate with your personal physician at your request. 

 

Does Dr. Nielsen prescribe traditional prescription medication?

 

Yes. Dr. Nielsen is a fully-licensed medical doctor. When appropriate, prescription medication is prescribed and/or adjusted.

 

Do I have to purchase vitamins and/or nutritional supplements through Dr. Nielsen?

 

No. We provide a variety of pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements selected by Dr. Nielsen for quality and savings, however, you are under no obligation to purchase our products.

 

Will Dr. Nielsen bill my insurance for my visit?

 

No. Dr. Nielsen does not participate with any medical insurance companies, including Medicare. At your request, we will provide you with the necessary information for you to submit the bill yourself (with the exception of Medicare). Payment is expected in full at the time of service. 

 

Can I use my Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account (HAS) funds for services?

 

YES! Both Flexible Spending Account and Health Savings Account (HAS) funds can be used for services and products.
